BUIES CREEK, N.C. Coming off an impressive series win over
conference foe Belmont, Campbell (16-15, 4-10 A-Sun) looks to
continue its winning ways as they prepare for two midweek
contests. The Camels will
travel to Greenville, N.C. on Tuesday to face nationally ranked
East Carolina (26-9, 9-3 C-USA) at 6:00 p.m. and will return to
Taylor Field when they host Charleston Southern on Wednesday Night
at 6:30 p.m.
Campbell and East Carolina have already met one time this season,
with the Pirates escaping Buies Creek with a 10-9 victory, thanks
two a two out rally in the top of the ninth inning. East Carolina has taken the last four
in the series, giving them a 42-17 lead in the all time series.
The Camels and the Pirates have spilt the last two meetings in
Greenville. ECU won last
seasons contest by a score of 11-2 while Campbell shutout ECU in
2007 en route to the 2-0 victory.
Following the contest with East Carolina, Campbell will host
Charleston Southern (13-22, 8-8 Big South) at Taylor Field on
Wednesday night.
This will be the first meeting between the Camels and the
Buccaneers since the 2007 season. CSU won the game at Taylor Field by a
score of 15-4.
Campbell has won four out of the last six meetings between the two
schools and the Camels own a narrow 22-21 lead in the series.
Following the midweek games, Campbell will head to Jacksonville,
Fla. on Thursday. The
Camels and the Dolphins will square off on Friday night at 6:30
p.m. followed by a doubleheader on Saturday starting at 1 p.m.
