BUIES CREEK, N.C. Coming off an emotional series loss at
Jacksonville, Campbell (19-17, 5-12 A-Sun) looks to get back on
track when they host North Carolina Central (5-24) on Tuesday. The Camels and the Eagles will
face off in doubleheader action at Taylor Field beginning at 5:00
p.m. Both games of the
doubleheader will be seven inning contests.
Campbell and NC
Central already faced one time this season, with Campbell coming
out on top 15-1 at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Parker Fleming was the starting
pitcher for Campbell in that game and earned his first career win
as he scattered eight hits over five innings allowing just one
run. Fleming set a career
best of six strikeouts in the game.
With the win
Campbell now owns a 3-0 mark in the series. Campbell will likely throw a pair of
starting right handed pitchers on Tuesday. Game one will likely feature freshman
Parker Fleming (1-1), while game two may see Josh Fish (1-2) start
on the bump.
Parker Fleming
(Lexington, S.C.) has seen action in 12 games for the Camels with
two starts. Fleming owns a
4.81 ERA with 16 strikeouts over 24.1 innings of work.
Meanwhile, Josh
Fish (Bellingham, Wash.) has appeared in nine games for Campbell
with five starts. Fish owns a 7.90 ERA with 25 strikeouts over 27.1
innings on the mound.
