Men's Golf Sits in Fourth at Sea Trail Intercollegiate

Sunset Beach, N.C. - Campbell junior Victor Hielte is tied for fifth place after an opening round three-under par 69, and the Camels sit in fourth place overall after round one of the Sea Trail Intercollegiate.

Four out of the five Campbell players finished under par for the afternoon, which was good enough for a six-under par 282 team total, on the 6,761 yard, par-72, Sea Trail Resort layout.

Mitch Gray, Matt Moot, and Zak Drescher each shot one-under par 71's, as they sit in a tie for 19th place.

Stetson has the team lead after an opening 14-under 272 total. Wofford sits in second at nine-under followed by James Madison who sits at eight-under, in the 16-school event.

Sam Ryder of Stetson has a one shot lead after firing a six-under par 66, followed by Marshall Tinsley (George Mason) and Brian Colbert (Villanova), who both sit one shot back at five-under par.

Second round play at the Sea Trail Intercollegiate continues tomorrow at 8:30 a.m.
