Women's Golf moves up to fourth; Koh shoots school record-low round at Palmetto Intercollegiate

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. - Michelle Koh shot a school-record, 5-under-par 66 in Monday's second round and Campbell moved up to fourth place in the team standings at the Palmetto Intercollegiate at Oak Point Golf Club.

A junior from Kuantan, Malaysia, Koh broke the previous school record of 68 she shared with five other Camel golfers by two strokes. Her 11 birdies through 36 holes leads the 92-golfer field. Koh has played even-par golf on the par-three and par-four holes and is four-under on the par-fives on the par-71, 5912-yard Oak Point layout.

She moved into a tie for second place at three-under-par 139 (73-66) - a school 36-hole record total. Koh is tied with Lucia Fernandez of Jacksonville State (70-69-139), five strokes behind individual leader Leigh Whittaker from host College of Charleston.

Campbell senior Sarah Bejgrowicz is tied for sixth place at two-over 144 after shooting consecutive 72s on Monday. The Lancaster, Pa., native is four-under on the par-5 holes, second-best in the event. Sophomore Teresa Urquizu is tied for 20th on the leader board at plus-five 147 (77-70).

The Camels (299-284-583) moved up five spots from their first round standing to fourth place after shooting the low score of the second round (284). Both of Campbell's rounds on Monday marked season-lows for the team.

With 31 birdies through two rounds, Campbell is tied with Coastal Carolina for the most in the field. CU has also recorded 99 pars, sixth-most in the event.

College of Charleston leads the 18-school field at 10-over 578 (287-291), followed by first-round leader Kennesaw State (282-298-580), Coastal Carolina (295-287-582) and Campbell. Kansas (296-296-592), East Tennessee State (294-298-592) and Morehead State (293-299-592) are locked in a three-way tie for fifth.
