Kylie Warne Claims CCSA Swimmer of the Week Honor

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Campbell freshman swimmer Kylie Warne has been named the Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association (CCSA) Women's Swimmer of the Week, the league announced for the week covering action from Nov. 1-7.

Warne led Campbell to a 137-65 win over conference rival Radford last weekend. In the meet, Warne won a pair of events and broke the three-year school record in the 500 free (5:07.16). She also set a personal best of 1:56.34 in winning the 200 free and was part of the Campbell 'B' relay team that competed in the 400 free relay. Warne is Campbell's top ranked swimmer in four individual events this season (500 free, 100 back, 200 back and 200 IM). On the year, the freshman from Alberta, Canada is tied for the team lead with five individual victories and second on the team with eight top-three finishes.

This is the first weekly award that Warne has captured in her career at CU. She is the first Campbell swimmer to be named CCSA Swimmer of the Week since senior Casey Umberger captured the award on Feb. 17, 2009 and the third active member of Campbell's team to have earned a Swimmer of the Week honor with senior Ashlyn Stumpf also taking home the award back on Oct. 15, 2008.

Campbell has a busy week in the pool this week and will host conference rival North Florida on Nov. 12 at 2 p.m. at the Johnson Aquatic Center and then heads off to take on East Carolina and College of Charleston in Greenville, N.C. on Nov. 13 at 1 p.m.
