BUIES CREEK, N.C. - For the first time this
season and the third time in his career Campbell placekicker Adam
Willets was named the Pioneer Football League's Special Teams
Player of the Week, the league announced on Nov. 21.
Willets earned the award after registering six points in Campbell's
double overtime 30-24 loss at Morehead State on Nov. 20. Willets
was a perfect three-for-three on his extra point attempts including
a made extra point in the first overtime to send the game to a
second session. Willets also knocked in a 27-yard field goal to
give Campbell a 17-10 lead with just over four minutes remaining in
the game. The field goal was Willets' ninth of the season, which
tied his own single-season record. He also kicked off and averaged
52.8 a kick on his four kick-offs.
Willets ended his season going 9-for-15 on his field goal attempts
and making 28 of his 31 extra point attempts for 55 points. His 55
points scored are the most in a single-season for a Campbell kicker
and the second-most point scored by a Campbell player in the
school's three-year modern day history. His 55 points scored ranked
Willets sixth in the conference in scoring among all kickers.
Willets set a new career-best with a 47-yard field goal on the road
in the 20-16 win over Virginia-Wise to start the season on Sept. 4,
2010.
Willets previously was named the PFL's Special Teams Player of the
Week on Oct. 25, 2009 and Nov. 1, 2009.
The award is the sixth time that Campbell's football program has
been honored with a weekly award since the program was restarted.

29, 2008, Cody
Lyon was named the PFL's Defensive Player of the Week on Nov.
1, 2009 and Brandon
Chandler was named the PFL's Defensive Player of the Week on
Nov. 15, 2009.
