ST. LOUIS - Campbell's football program (3-8, 2-6 Pioneer Football
League) completed its 2010 season and saw nine of its players earn
All-Pioneer Football League recognition, with a player on the first
and three on the league's second team, the league announced on
Tuesday evening, Nov. 23.
Campbell selections were led by tight end Mike
Stryffeler, who earned a first team selection. Stryffeler's
first team selection was the second in school history behind
linebacker Milton
Brown's selection in 2008. The honor was the second time in as
many seasons that Stryffeler was honored with an all-conference
selection as he made the second team in 2009. CU had three players
earn places on the second team this season in offensive tackle Sam
Issermoyer, defensive lineman Randel
Herring and defensive back Jared
Hart. Issermoyer was also a second team choice in 2009. Hart
earned a spot as an honorable mention honoree last season. The
Camels had five players earn Honorable Mention All-PFL recognition
this season in quarterback Daniel
Polk, offensive guard Branden Burt, offensive tackle Jeremy
Hill, linebacker Lee
Stanley and punter Ted
Moore. The nine selections tie last season's mark for the most
during the Division I era.
Mike

A First Team All-PFL selection in 2010...played in all 11 games
with 10 starts at tight end...set a new Campbell record with four
receiving touchdowns...tied for ninth in the Pioneer Football
League in receiving scores...ranked second on the team with 25
catches...aided Campbell's offense to a top rushing rank
(207.73)...caught a career-high six passes against Drake
(10/16)...had five catches for 59 yards against Jacksonville
(11/13)...all five of his catches went for first downs or
touchdowns against the Dolphins ...a 2x CoSIDA First Team Academic
All-District 3 selection...named Second Team All-PFL in 2009 as a
tight end.
Sam
Issermoyer, Offensive Tackle, Jr., Eldersburg,
Md./Liberty
A Second Team All-PFL selection in 2010...played in and started all
11 games at left tackle...aided team to top ranking in the
conference in rushing (207.73 yards per game)...the team finished
16th nationally in rushing...his line also allowed the
second least amount of sacks in the conference (1.55) and tied for
40th nationally in sacks allowed...his offense ranked fourth in the
league in scoring offense (23.73)...aided Campbell to a
school-record 416 yards rushing against Valparaiso (11/6)...the
team was able to rush for more than 200 yards in four games...the
offense ran for 2,285 yards on the season (an improvement of 198
yards from the previous year)...has been a key component to the
Camels leading in the conference in rushing in each of the last two
seasons...named Second Team All-PFL in 2009 as an offensive
lineman
Randel

Johnston
A Second Team All-PFL selection in 2010...played in and started
all 11 games at defensive tackle...ranked sixth on the team and
first among all defensive lineman with 48 tackles...was eighth
among all d-lineman in the PFL with 48 tackles...recorded two
tackles for loss, a sack and a pass defense as well...had a 12
tackle and sack effort against Butler (10/2)...led the team in
tackles against the Bulldogs...totaled seven tackles against
UVA-Wise (9/4) and eight tackles against Davidson (9/18)
Jared
Hart, Defensive Back, R-Jr., Durham,
N.C./North Raleigh Christian Academy
A Second Team All-PFL selection...played in and started all 11
games at cornerback...second on the team with 27 solo
tackles...ranked eighth on the team overall with 43 stops...had
four pass defense and registered 2.5 tackles for loss...his pass
defended ranked him third on the team...recorded a team-high 11
tackles against Dayton (10/23)...his 11 tackles tied a
career-high... part of a secondary that ranked second in the league
in pass defense (198.82)... named Honorable Mention All-PFL in 2009
as a defensive back
Ted
Moore, Punter, Jr., Wilmington, N.C./Laney
An Honorable Mention All-PFL selection...placed second in the
conference with a school-record 40.28 yards a punt...his punting
average placed him 29th nationally...he also aided
Campbell to the best net punting average in the league (34.19)...he
placed seven of his punts inside the 20 and had six 50+ punts on
the season...averaged 43.5 yards a punt in his four attempts
against Butler (10/2)...had a long of 64 yards against Valparaiso
(11/6)...also served as the team's holder on all 15 field goal
attempts and all 31 extra points.
Daniel
Polk, Quarterback, R-Sr., Cary, N.C./Cary
An Honorable Mention All-PFL selection ...played in and started all
11 games at quarterback...ranked second on the team in rushing with
558 yards...ran for a school-record 12 touchdowns...ranked tied for
fourth in the conference in scoring with an average of 6.55 points
a game...his average of 50.73 rushing yards a game placed him fifth
in the conference and second among all quarterbacks...completed a
school-record 123 passes for a school-record eight passing
touchdowns on the season...threw for 1,263 yards...had a 48-yard
completion against Dayton...completed 17 passes for 187 yards
against the Flyers...had a career-high 20 completions and two
touchdown passes against Marist (10/30)...ran for a school-record
three touchdowns against Valparaiso (11/6)...ran for two scores
against UVA-Wise (9/4), Davidson (9/18) and Georgia State
(9/25)...either ran for a threw a touchdown pass in every game
during the 2010 season...ended his career with 1,130 yards rushing
and 2,618 yards passing...responsible for 29 touchdowns during his
21 games as Campbell's starting quarterback....served as one of the
team's pre-game captains in all 11 games during 2010.
Branden
Burt, Offensive Line, Jr., Greenville, N.C./D.H.

11 games at left guard...aided team to top ranking in the
conference in rushing (207.73 yards per game)...the team finished
16th nationally in rushing...his line also allowed the

An Honorable Mention All-PFL selection in 2010...played in and
started all 11 games at linebacker...led the team with 83 tackles
and 26 solo stops...ranked second on the team with five pass
defense...ranked sixth in the league in tackles per game
(7.55)...led the team in tackles five times...reached double
figures in tackles twice (UVA-Wise - 9/4 and Drake -
10/16)...tallied a school-record 14 tackles against UVA Wise...had
seven solo tackles against Jacksonville (11/13)....recorded a force
fumble against Valparaiso (11/6)...served as one of the team's
pre-game captains in all 11 games...named Honorable Mention All-PFL
in 2009 as a linebacker
Dayton, the PFL co-regular season champion with Jacksonville, saw
head coach Rick Chamberlin named Coach of the
Year. Dayton's Steve Valentino was named the
league's Offensive Player of the Year for the second consecutive
season. Drake defensive lineman Dain Taylor
received the league's Defensive Player of the Year. The league's
freshman awards went to Davidson quarterback Jonathan
Carkhuff (Offensive Freshman of the Year) and
Jacksonville's linebacker Mike Klein (Defensive
Freshman of the Year).
