Lady Camels Set to Host First Educational Day

BUIES CREEK, N.C.-Months of planning will culminate tomorrow, Dec. 14 as the Lady Camels will be hosting their first Educational Day in the Creek. 2,800 fifth graders from Sampson County, Harnett County, and Clinton school systems along with those from Cape Fear Christian Academy in Erwin will descend upon Campbell's campus for a day full of learning and fun.

The day will begin with the students arriving and enjoying a Campbell Pep Rally by the CU Cheerleaders and Gaylord, along with the Lady Camel basketball team complete with music, dancing, and a light show. Following the pep rally, the students will rotate through three educational sessions consisting of a math and geography session, a physical education session, and a campus tour.

With the math and geography portion, students will learn about different countries around the world as several CU athletes will be telling the students about their home lands such as Sweden and Finland and the math portion will consists of computing various problems using Lady Camel season statistics as figures.

In the physical education portion, students will have a blast participating in line dancing in the McCall Practice Gym and will wrap up the learning session with a tour of the campus and all that CU has to offer students.

Following the educational sessions, the students will be having lunch before getting to enjoy great basketball action as the Lady Camels will be hosting the Eagles of North Carolina Central University with tip off set for 11:45 AM. The day is set to be a great experience for all of those who will be able to participate.
