BUIES CREEK, N.C.-Despite four in double figures and shooting over
48 percent from the field, Campbell dropped a 76-74 decision to USC
Upstate in its home finale Saturday inside the John W. Pope Jr.
Convocation Center.

Despite 20 first half turnovers, the Lady Camels owned a 37-36 lead
at the break, with Ashley Williamson powering in
eight of Campbell's 20 first-half points in the paint.
After the break, a Cooper lay-in put the Lady Camels up three, but
seven straight Upstate points gave the Spartans a 43-39 advantage
with 17:45 to play. That spurt sparked a 19-7 run by the Spartans,
and ballooned the lead to nine at 55-46 after a Courtney Hawkins
four-point play at the 14:13 mark.
The Lady Camels then made a run of their own, as Geami
Britt and Jazmine
Cooper layups bookended a 10-1 CU run to tie the game at 56. A
Britt three from the corner then put the Lady Camels on top 59-58
with 10:12 remaining.
Up by seven with 4:14 remaining, the Spartans made a final run,
scoring 13 of the game's final 16 points to take the 76-74 win.
The Lady Camels will conclude the regular season next weekend in
Jacksonville, Fla., taking on Jacksonville and North Florida.
