JACKSONVILLE, FLA.-With Atlantic Sun Tournament seeding on the
line, Campbell will take on North Florida Saturday inside UNF Arena
at 4:30 p.m.
The Lady Camels dropped to 14-14 on the season with a 9-10 A-Sun
mark after a 63-57 loss at Jacksonville on Thursday.
Freshman guard Tonisha
Baker led the way for the Lady Camels with 12 points on 6-of-9
shooting, adding four rebounds, four steals and a pair of assists.
Lauren Yesh and Kate
Cloxton followed with 11 points apiece. Yesh also tallied four
rebounds while Cloxton chipped in two steals.
Freshman post Jazmine
Cooper gathered nine points with three rebounds. Senior center
Ashley Williamson paced
Campbell on the boards with eight rebounds.
UNF comes into the regular season finale at 9-19 with a 6-13 A-Sun
record after dropping three straight, including a 68-58 loss
against East Tennessee State on Thursday. Brittany Kirkland paces
the Ospreys at 14.2 points per game, while Juliemay Syquio follows
with 8.6 points, adding 6.0 rebounds per game. Syquio also leads
UNF in assists with 3.86 per game.
The Lady Camels upended UNF, 64-52, in both teams' A-Sun opener in
November, with Cloxton notching a game-high 16 points on the
strength of four three-pointers. Yesh also posted a double-double
with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
Syquio led the Ospreys with 15 points, while Kirkland and Jadhken
Kerr added 13 and 12, respectively.
Campbell leads the all-time series with UNF 5-3, taking three of
the last four contests. The Lady Camels are 2-2 in Jacksonville
against the Ospreys.
The Lady Camels will head to Macon, Ga. next week for the A-Sun
Tournament. Game time and date will be determined after the
conclusion of play on Saturday.
