The Pioneer Football League athletic directors established the
honor roll as a way to recognize the league's outstanding
student-athletes. The academic honor roll consists of
student-athletes who participated in football at member
institutions during the fall semester and posted a 3.0 grade-point
average or higher during the semester while enrolled full-time in
accordance with NCAA rules.
This season all 10 PFL teams are represented on the honor roll with
four member schools boasting 40 or more student-athletes on the
honor roll this season. Davidson led the way with 64 football
student-athletes on the honor roll. Dayton (56), Butler (48) and
Drake (47) each also had 40-plus student-athletes on the honor roll
during the fall semester. Campbell's total of 34 was the
sixth-highest number in the conference this season
Campbell is coming off a season where it went 3-8, placed nine on
All-PFL teams and led the Pioneer Football League in rushing
(189.73 yard per game). The team placed three individual players in
the league's top 11 in rushing and ranked 13th
nationally overall. The team won both its first Pioneer Football
League game (at home against Morehead State 31-22) and first PFL
road win (at Valparaiso 17-3). The Camels will hold their third
annual Orange and Black football scrimmage on April 10 at
Barker-Lane Stadium during Campbell's Hall of Fame Weekend, which
will start with a golf tournament at Keith Hills Country Club on
April 9.
