BUIES CREEK, N.C. -- Coming off an important midweek win against
ACC rival NC State the Fighting Camels step back into conference
play to face off against the North Florida Ospreys.
On Tuesday night
Campbell allowed five runs in the top of the first inning but then
held NC State scoreless until the eighth in a 15-10 victory over
the visiting Wolfpack. The Camels combined to belt a season high
marks in triples (5) and extra base hits (7). Individually it was
the efforts of Chris Bangi that led
Campbell as the senior from Jacksonville went 2-for-3 with four
RBI.
As for North Florida
they come into the weekend with a record of 12-11 and a 2-1 mark in
Atlantic Sun play. Last weekend UNF took 2-of-3 from crosstown
rival Jacksonville; dropping game one to the Dolphins 13-10 and
then winning the final two games of the series 2-0, 4-3. During
the midweek the Ospreys dropped a close contest at South Florida

Last season it was
all North Florida as the Ospreys came into Buies Creek and left
with three victories. The UNF pitching staff allowed just five
runs during the first two tilts as UNF defeated the Camels 13-3 and
12-2. Game three though was the opposite of a pitching dual as the
teams combined for 29 runs off of 35 hits but UNF got the better of
Campbell by a 16-13 score.
Following this road
trip the Camels will be back in action at Taylor Field as they will
welcome in MEAC opponent Norfolk State on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. The
contest against Norfolk State will commemorate a special day in
Campbell baseball as it will be the 25th anniversary of Henry
Rochelle's five home run contest.
