NASHVILLE,
Tenn. - The Campbell University women's tennis team moved to 2-0 in
Atlantic Sun play with a 7-0 victory against Lipscomb on Friday
afternoon.
Campbell got off to a quick 1-0 start by sweeping through doubles
play and winning the doubles point on the afternoon.
Cristina Garcia/Ana Surviladze defeated
Elizabeth Keevil/Mackenzie Bishop 8-6 at number one singles. Lisa
Sutton/Borislava Nikolova knocked
off Kara Jackson/Danielle Hansen, 8-1 at the number two position.
The number three Campbell duo of Nikoletta
Kaposzta/Lourdes
Ros defeated Julianne McMean/Carlina Jow, 8-4.
Campbell took swept through singles play by winning each match in
straight sets. Lisa
Sutton won her third straight match at number one singles as
she knocked off Mackenzie Bishop, 6-2, 6-3. Garcia defeated
Keevil, 6-2, 6-4 at number two. Blanca Saenz defeated Hansen,
6-2, 6-2 in the number three position.
In the number four position, Nikolova defeated Jackson, 6-3, 7-6.
Surviladze defeated Jow, 6-1, 6-1 and Gomar defeated McMeen 6-0,
6-3.
Campbell is now 5-3 (2-0 A-Sun) on the season while Lipscomb falls
to 4-6 and 0-1 in the Atlantic Sun.
Campbell will now travel across town to take on Belmont at 10
a.m.
