NASHVILLE,
Tenn. - The Campbell University men's tennis team moved to 2-0 in
Atlantic Sun conference play with a 7-0 sweep of Lipscomb, Friday
afternoon.
The Camels (7-3, 2-0 A-Sun) opened the match with a 1-0 advantage
after sweeping through doubles play.
The Campbell duos of Davy Sum/Dominik Kaniewski and
Larbi Lamzouri/Josep Baro both
earned their seventh victories in row. Sum/Kaniewski remain
undefeated for the season.
Sum remains undefeated in singles action as he defeated Daniel
Hangstefer in the number one position, 5-7, 6-4, 6-2. Lamzouri won
his eighth match in a row with a 6-2, 7-6 win over Chad
Pierron.
Campbell senior Beto Mondini earned a
straight set victory over James Murrell, 6-2, 6-2. Loukas
Wallaart got back on track with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Mario
Hernandez, to move to a perfect 2-0 in A-Sun play.
Freshman David
Clavera has now won five straight with a come from behind win
over Tanner Brown, 3-6, 6-2, (10-6). Ondrej
Kralik earned his first conference victory with a 6-4, 6-3 win
over Colby Shaw.
With the loss, Lipscomb falls to 3-2 overall and 0-1 in Atlantic
Sun play.
