JACKSONVILLE, FLA.-The Camel men took third and the women placed
sixth, while Campbell notched three event titles on the final day
of the Atlantic Sun Outdoor Track & Field Championships
Saturday at North Florida's Hodges Stadium.
The CU men totaled 126 points, finishing behind Kennesaw State
(269) and East Tennessee State (228). The women's unit ended the
day in sixth with 45.5 points. Jacksonville claimed the women's
title with 247 points.
Junior Adoniss Jones posted a
Campbell record while tying the A-Sun Outdoor meet mark with a time
of 14.00 in the men's 110 meter hurdles. Samford's Derrick Moore

hurdles, taking a bronze with a time of 53.75.

championship with a time of 53.00. The win marked the fourth
consecutive A-Sun 400 meter hurdles championship for Sims, who also
owns the event record of 51.62. He joins former Camel Eric
Bergemann as the only A-Sun athletes to win the same event four
straight years. Bergemann won the high jump from 2000 through
2003.
The men's 4x100 meter relay team also registered a championship on
the day with a school record time of 40.79. The mark, on the legs
of Josh Powell, Diego
Lawrence, Jared Simmons and Rashad
Campbell, surpassed the previous record of 41.11, set earlier
this season.
The men's 4x400 meter relay team also claimed all-conference honors
with a silver in the event. Jones, Sims, Kelvonto Cooper, Cardel
Johnson posted a time of 3:14.98 to hit the mark.
