Country, as announced by the College Sports Information Directors
of America (CoSIDA).
Norden was named to the district's first team, while Franklin

Norden, a Nykoping, Sweden native, is the first repeat winner of
the award after being named to the District III First Team last
season as well. The cross country and track performer has carried a
4.0 grade point average (GPA) while majoring in chemistry through
all four years at CU. The senior's perfect GPA is one of only three
on the District III roster, along with Virginia Tech's Kelly
Phillips (first team) and Mikaela Terry (second team) of Coastal
Carolina.
In all, Norden was named Atlantic Sun Academic All-conference eight
times during her career (XC 09-10, 08-09, 07-08, 06-07; TF 09-10,
08-09, 07-08, 06-07), out of a possible eight.
During her senior track season, Norden set five personal records,
and collected an indoor best finish of seventh in the 5000 meters
at the Liberty Open. During her outdoor campaign, Norden notched
four top-10 and two top-five finishes, collecting a runner-up
finish in the 5000 meters at the Liberty Twilight. Norden also
notched a fifth place finish in the 1500 meter run at the USC
Upstate Invite with a personal best time.
Collecting her first CoSIDA Academic All-District accolade,
Franklin carries a near perfect 3.95 GPA with a major in criminal
justice. The Charles Town, W.Va. native, like Norden, was been
named A-Sun All-Academic all eight semesters (XC 09-10, 08-09,
07-08, 06-07; TF 09-10, 08-09, 07-08, 06-07) at Campbell.
Franklin collected two top-10 finishes during the 2009 cross
country season and reset six personal bests during the 2010 indoor
and outdoor track & field seasons. The senior registered two
top-10 finishes during indoor season, with a best of ninth in the
mile at the A-Sun Championships, with three top-10 finishes during
outdoor campaign. Franklin's 2010 outdoor highlight came at the
Charlotte Invitational, where she notched a season best finish of
sixth in the 3000 meter run.
Only two other A-Sun student-athletes were chosen CoSIDA Academic
All-District, both coming in District IV. Belmont's Brittany Thune
(3.95 / business administration) and Lipscomb's Ryan Chastain (3.70
/ mechanical engineering) also made the women's and men's lists,
respectively.
