CREEK, N.C. - Head coach Todd Clark has announced the hiring of Dee
Nocero as an assistant coach for the Campbell University women's
soccer program. Nocero
joins the coaching staff after serving two years as a graduate
assistant at Illinois State University.
"We have had some great luck with our past two assistants and Dee
is another great addition to our staff," said Clark. "Our
administration has enabled us to bring on a tremendous young
coaching talent that came highly recommended to me and we will
certainly benefit from her experiences. She has already shown
herself more than capable of assisting our program to the next
level and will allow us to raise the profile of Campbell University
and our women's soccer program."
Last year at Illinois State, Nocero helped lead the Redbirds to a
12-7-1 record and the 2009 Missouri Valley Conference tournament
championship. Nocero was part of a Redbirds unit that was also
named the 2009 MVC Coaching Staff of the Year. The Redbirds went
11-8-1 in 2008 to become co-regular season MVC champions.
"I'm very excited to be a part of the soccer program here at
Campbell," said Nocero. "I'd like to thank Coach (Todd) Clark,
Coach (Laurie) Franklin and the athletic administration for giving
me this opportunity. I'm looking forward to contributing any way I
can to the program and to the university."
Nocero was a four-year forward at Ball State and captained the side
her senior season. Nocero's name is all over Ball State's record
books, where she holds the all-time record for career goals (30)
and points (76) and ranks second in assists (16). The totals from
each of her four seasons as a Cardinal rate in the school's top-10
in single-season goals and points rankings. As a sophomore, Nocero
recorded 26 points on 10 goals and six assists, which all rank
second on Ball State's single-season list.
A three-time Mid-American Conference (MAC) First-Team selection,
Nocero earned three MAC Player of the Week awards and was named to
the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)
All-Great Lakes Region Team as a junior and senior.
Nocero finished her BSU career as a two-time MAC All-Academic and
Verizon Academic All-District First Team selection and an
NSCAA/adidas Scholar All-Central Region First Team honoree in
2004.
In 2005, Nocero earned her bachelor's degree in telecommunications
from BSU and received her M.S. in kinesiology and recreation from
ISU in 2010. Nocero also holds the NSCAA Advanced National
Diploma.
Prior to coaching at ISU, Nocero worked as an editor of new media
with the Cleveland Browns of the National Football League for three
years, where she produced and edited video clips for television and
the team Web site.
