Camels win at UNC Asheville 3-2 on Terry's 90th minute goal

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – Keegan Terry scored with just 15 seconds remaining in the second half and visiting Campbell withstood a UNC Asheville rally to defeat the Bulldogs 3-2 Saturday afternoon.

Campbell (7-6-2, 3-2 Big South) led 2-0 in the 81st minute after Jhuvon Francis scored his second goal of the year.

Asheville (3-9-3, 2-4-1) drew within 2-1 with 8:43 to play on David Parra's goal; then drew level with 1:42 left on Jake Hagedorn's strike.

However, Terry scored his third goal of the year and second in as many games to lift the Camels to their second-straight win in league play.

Campbell owns a 4-1-1 record in its last six games and has extended its record to 28-7-4 in its last 39 games during the month of October.  In those contests, the Camels have out-scored their foes by a 79-46 margin.

The Camels out-shot the Bulldogs 23-7 and now hold a 139-71 edge in attempts over its last six foes.

CU had 13 shots to only one for UNCA in a scoreless first half.

Campbell went in front in the 52nd minute on freshman Bryce Miller's first career goal.  Justin Franz and Jonathan Ray set up Miller, who beat Bulldog keeper Lassi Hurskainen from point-blank range.

After Hagedorn drew Asheville level, Terry went in free on Hurskainen, who stopped him with 55 seconds left.  However, 40 seconds later, J.J. Elder served the ball into the area and Terry provided the game-winner.

Campbell improved to 11-2-1 all-time against UNC Asheville, which has lost 3-straight outings and has suffered 7 one-goal setbacks this year.

Ethan Hall finished with two saves in the Campbell nets, while Hurskainen made 13 for UNCA

The Camels return home for a pair of contests next week against Liberty (Tuesday) and VMI (Oct. 29).
