Lady Camels among NCAA Leaders in First National Stat Report

BUIES CREEK, N.C.-Campbell ranks among some of the nation's leaders in several statistical categories as the NCAA's first national report of the 2011-12 season was released Monday. 

As a team, CU ranks in the nation's top-50 in seven categories, including 11th in field goal percentage defense, which sits at a suffocating 31.0 percent. The team's 49.5 points allowed per game also ranks 13th, while its three point percentage defense of 20.5 percent is good for 15th.

The Lady Camels stand 23rd in blocked shots per game at 6.2, while their 16.7 assists per game ranks 33rd. At 5-1, the team is also 35th in win percentage at 83.3 percent. Campbell is 49th in assist/turnover ratio at 0.96.

Additionally, senior guard Kate Cloxton ranks 45th in individual assists per game at 5.0 per outing.

Off to one of the best starts in program history, the Lady Camels will look to build on their 5-1 record Tuesday morning against Winston-Salem State. The 5-1 start is the ninth time a CU team has won at least five of its first six games, and the first since the 1999-2000 season.

The Lady Camels are 3-0 at home this year.
