BUIES
CREEK, N.C. - With 11 top-three marks in the conference this
season, the Camels head to the Atlantic Sun Indoor Championships,
hosted by ETSU, this weekend.
CU has
three athletes that have top seeds for this weekend, Diego
Lawrence, Jessica
Dunston, and Nadia
Natt. Lawrence's best jump of 7.54 meters gives
him the top spot in the long jump, the event in which he won silver
at last year's A-Sun Indoor Championship behind his teammate, Robert
Brunson. Lawrence is also one of the top seeds
for the 200m dash and triple jump.
Dunston's
top throw of 18.20 meters gives her the top seed in the weight
throw. In three events this season, Dunston has won
the weight throw twice along with a second place
finish. She won bronze in the event at last season's
A-Sun Indoor Championship. Dunston also took silver
in last season's shot put and has the 11th best mark in
the conference this season.
Natt's
best mark of 12.24 meters gives her the number one seed in the
triple jump, the event in which she took gold at last year's A-Sun
Indoor Championship.
Rashad
Campbell has one of the top spots in the conference for both
the 60m and 200m dash. Adoniss
Jones has won gold in the 60m hurdles at the last two A-Sun
Indoor Championships and is ranked third for this year's
event.
Brunson
took gold in last year's long and triple jump events and is ranked
third and fourth in those events,
respectively.
Action at
the two day event begins on Friday with the women's pentathlon at
8:30 a.m.
