Women's Basketball Wraps up A-Sun Road Play at FGCU Saturday

FT. MYERS, FLA.-Campbell will play its final Atlantic Sun road game on Saturday at league-leading Florida Gulf Coast, taking on the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. inside Alico Arena.

The Lady Camels (11-15, 10-7 A-Sun) are coming off an 81-67 loss at Stetson on Thursday, where the Hatters' 19-2 run late in the first half downed CU. Senior guard Courtney Cannon led the Lady Camels with 15 points and five rebounds.

Jazmine Cooper, a sophomore forward, added 14 points and four boards, scoring in double figures for the sixth consecutive game. Cooper is averaging 13.7 points and 6.3 rebounds per game for the Lady Camels over that span.

Sophomore guard Tonisha Baker leads the Lady Camels on the season at 10.8 points and 6.0 rebounds per game. Cooper adds 9.6 points and 5.8 rebounds per game, while senior forward Lauren Yesh adds 9.0 points and 6.4 boards a contest.

FGCU (20-2, 13-2 A-Sun) is coming off a 63-52 loss at Kennesaw State, where the Eagles shot just 25 percent in the second half and committed 26 turnovers in the game. Sarah Hansen leads three Eagles in double figures at 13.4 points per game on the season. Kelsey Jacobson and Shannon Murphy add 12.3 and 11.4 points per game, respectively.

The Eagles, who are currently ranked No. 3 in the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Poll, hold the nation's third-best home winning streak at 34 games (trailing Connecticut and Stanford).

In the teams' previous meeting in Buies Creek, FGCU downed Campbell 62-42. The Eagles converted 23 CU turnovers into 22 points and held the Lady Camels without a three point field goal for the first time this season. FGCU, meanwhile, hit 11-of-32 attempts from distance, tying the most threes hit against Campbell this season (at East Tennessee State, 11-24, 12/20/10).

Campbell will return to Buies Creek for its final pair of regular season games. The Lady Camels will host ETSU on Feb. 24 before facing USC Upstate on Feb. 26.
