ATHENS, Ga. - Campbell's swimming team is ranked eighth after the
second day of the CCSA Championship with 130 total points. The
Camels broke five school records during the second day of
competition.
Freshman Kaitlyn
Burnette set the school record and placed 12th in the 100
butterfly. Burnette's time of 57.92 broke the previous mark of
58.23 set by fellow freshman Cheriesse
Campbell earlier this season. Burnette also broke the 50
backstroke time (27.88) which came during 200 medley relay. She
broke the 100 backstroke historical record twice with her time of
58.95 in the preliminaries and again with her time of 58.94 in the
finals. She had set the 100 backstroke record the previous day in
'C' relay with a 58.58.
Cheriesse
Campbell broke the school's 200 free record with her time of
1:53.04. The mark bettered her own previous mark of 1:54.31 set
earlier in the fall and placed her 8th overall.

Campbell finished sixth in their event in a school record time
of 7:43.72. The time shattered the previous mark of 7:54.39 set at
least season CCSA Championship by over 11 seconds.
Among the events to be contest during the third and final day of
competition are the 200 backstroke, 100 free, 200 breast, 200
butterfly, 400 free relay and the 1,650 free.
