COLUMBIA, S.C. - Sophomore Diego
Lawrence won the long jump for the second consecutive week with
a personal best leap of 7.55 meters for the Camels at the Weems
Baskin Invitational, hosted by the University of South Carolina.
Lawrence also won the long jump at last weekend's Shamrock
Invitational.
Sophomore Jessica
Dunston won the shot put with a mark of 12.49 meters. Dunston
also finished third in the hammer throw with a hurl of 50.53 meters
and 11th in the discus throw with a toss of 36.10
meters.
Campbell's 4x100 meter relay team of Cameron
White, Lawrence, Jared
Simmons, and Rashad
Campbell finished second with a time of 41.34 seconds.
Senior Adoniss
Jones had fourth place finishes in the 110 meter hurdles (14.38
seconds) and the 400 meter hurdles (54.60 seconds).
Junior Cameron
White ran a personal best time of 10.76 seconds in the 100
meter dash to place sixth. White added an eighth place finish in
the 200 meter dash with a time of 21.96 seconds.
Freshman Samantha
Robbins ran a time of 4:53.41 and fellow freshman Ashley
Matthews had a time of 4:56.38 in the 1,500 meter run to finish
fourth and ninth, respectively.
Freshman Chris
Schulist had a time of 1:56.63 in the 800 meter run and
finished fourth. DeLohnni Nicol-Samuel finished fourth in the
1,500 meter run with a time of 4:04.33.
Sophomore Sena
Bekric finished fifth and freshman Mariah Collins placed
seventh in the 400 meter hurdles with times of 1:04.93 and 1:08.08,
respectively.
Junior Dave
Matthews placed sixth in the javelin throw with a personal best
mark of 55.42 meters.
Freshman Rudi
Fate finished ninth in the triple jump with a mark of 11.18
meters. Fate also had a leap of 5.12 meters in the long jump to
finish 10th in the event.
The Camels return to competition at the Liberty Invitational next
weekend (Apr. 1-2) in Lynchburg, Va.
