FT MYERS, Fla. - The Campbell University men's tennis team (7-1, 1-0 A-Sun) defeated Florida Gulf Coast 7-0, Thursday at the FGCU Tennis Complex. Davy Sum improved to 8-0 on the season after his victory in the one position.

Larbi Lamzouri improved to 5-3 on the season after defeating Gabriel Echeverry (4-6, 6-3, 6-3) of FGCU (0-7, 0-2) in the two spot. Freshman Fernando Guillen beat Carlo Checchia (6-4, 3-6, 6-0) in the three position.

Dominik Kaniewski won his fifth match of the season by defeating Steve Binninger (6-3, 6-0) in the four spot. David Clavera and James Jones also picked up victories in the five and six spots.

The Camels won two of the three doubles matches to earn the doubles point. Sum and Kaniewski defeated Matt Rock and Echeverry (8-4) in the one position, while Ondrej Kralik and Josep Baro picked up a victory in the three spot.

Campbell continues its Florida road trip Saturday, March 5 against Stetson. Match time is set for 10:00 a.m.
