JACKSONVILLE,
FLA. - Runner-up finishes by Dave
Matthews in the javelin throw and Rashad
Campbell in the 200 meter dash highlighted the final day of
competition for the Camels at the UNF Spring Break
Invitational. Matthews set a personal record in the
javelin throw with a mark of 52.97 meters, while Campbell had a
time of 21.86 seconds in the 200 meter
dash.
Sophomore
Nadia
Natt placed third in the triple jump with a mark of 11.99
meters. Sophomore Chris Lassiter had a mark of 12.65
meters and finished eighth on the men's side in the same
event.
Senior Adoniss
Jones continued his stellar weekend with a time of 54.41
seconds in the 400 meter hurdles which gave him fourth
place. Sophomore Sena
Bekric finished 11th in the same event on the
women's side with a personal best time of
1:06.09.
On the
women's side in the javelin throw, junior Courtney Raynor had a
mark of 34.18 meters, a personal best, and finished
fifth.
Sophomore
Cameron
White finished ninth and freshman Jayshawn
Campbell finished 11th in the 200 meter dash with
times of 22.46 and 22.51 seconds, respectively.
White's time set a new personal best.
Freshman
Chris
Schulist ran a time of 3:58.24 in the 1,500 meters and placed
fourth. Junior Rachel Deline finished sixth and
freshman Ashley
Matthews placed 10th in the event on the women's
side. Deline ran a time of 4:46.82 while Matthews had
one of 4:49.54.
At the
Virginia Tech Final Qualifier, Diego
Lawrence had a leap of 7.30 meters in the long jump and
finished sixth.
The Camels
will be in action again next weekend, Mar. 11-12, at the Seahawk
Invitational, hosted by UNC Wilmington.
