MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- Sarah Bejgrowicz finished fourth individually
and Campbell placed 7th in the team standings following Tuesday's
final round of the Barefoot at the Beach women's golf
tournament.
A senior from
Lancaster, Pa., Bejgrowicz shot 73-74-77--224 to tie with Leigh
Whittaker from the College of Charleston (71-76-77--224) at
8-over-par 224. Fanny Wolte of East Carolina won the event at
2-under 214 (69-75-70) on the par-72 Barefoot Resort Davis Love
course.
Nina Muehl from East
Tennessee State was 2nd (71-74-72--217), while Amy Otteson from ECU
finished 3rd (75-71-77--223).
East Carolina claimed
team honors at 891 strokes in the 54-hole event. Wisconsin (900)
was second, three strokes ahead of ETSU (903). Kennesaw State
(916) finished 3rd, followed by host College of Charleston (918),
Morehead State (929), Campbell (930) and Old Dominion (930).
Campbell senior
Sandra Angulo shot the team's low round of the day and finished in
a tie for 25th place (83-76-73--232). Junior Michelle Koh tied for
41st (79-76-81--236), freshman Kaylin Yost tied for 51st
(82-78-79--239) and sophomore Teresa Urquizu tied for 77th
(96-82-80--258).
Playing as
individuals, Campbell freshmen Maria Jose Benavides (77-75-81--233)
and Alexandra Prazak (77-77-81--235) tied for 27th and 37th,
respectively.
The Camels return to
action Friday in the James Madison/Eagle Landing Invitational at
Jacksonville, Fla.
