DeLAND, FLA. - Campbell recorded the day's low round (303) and moved into position to claim its record ninth league title following Tuesday's second day of the Atlantic Sun women's golf championship at Victoria Hills.

The Camels (297-303-600) hold a two-stroke lead over first-round leader Kennesaw State (294-308-602) heading into Wednesday's final round. Two-time defending champion and host Stetson (298-305-603) and East Tennessee State (298-305-603) are only three strokes off the pace set by Coach John Crooks' club.

Following a day when no golfers in the 50-player field broke par, four Camels rank among the top 19 individuals.

Junior Michelle Koh (71-76-147) is tied for second place with Fabienne Haremza of Florida Gulf Coast (75-72-147) at three-over par. Alex Buelow of Stetson (71-74-145) leads the tournament at plus-one.

A two-time top-10 finisher in the A-Sun event, Campbell senior Sarah Bejgrowicz birdied the 18th hole to move into a tie for fourth place at four-over 148 (72-76). Fellow senior Sandra Angulo produced the team's low round of the day and moved up 11 places to an 11th-place tie at eight-over 152 (77-75).

First-round leader Kimberly Graff of Mercer dropped to seventh place after a plus-seven 79 Tuesday (70-79-149).

Campbell freshman Kaylin Yost is tied for 16th (77-76-153), while fellow frosh Maria Jose Benavides (81-79-160) is tied for 31st place on the par-72, 6137-yard Victoria Hills layout.

The runner-up in two of the last three A-Sun events, Campbell has won an A-Sun record eight of the last 14 women's golf championships. Coach John Crooks' teams have won twice as many league titles (8) as the next closest schools - 4 each by Central Florida and Florida International.

The 2011 A-Sun tournament winner will receive the league's automatic berth to NCAA Regional play.

Campbell carried the top national ranking of league members into the A-Sun Championship. The Camels are ranked 76th in the latest Golfstat NCAA head-to-head ratings, followed closely by 2010 A-Sun runner-up Kennesaw State (77) and 2008 titlist East Tennessee State (85).

Stetson, which won the last two A-Sun titles on Central Florida courses (Venetian Bay in 2010 and Victoria Hills in 2009), is ranked no.-107 by Golfstat. Stetson sophomore Alex Buelow is the top-ranked player in the field, no.-56 in the latest Golfstat Cup listing.

The host school has won each of the last four Atlantic Sun titles, including ETSU (2008) and Campbell (2007). The last time a host school did not win the event was 2006 when CU claimed the title at DeBary (Fla.) GC.

This week's event marks the third time Victoria Hills will serve as host of the A-Sun women's championship. Georgia State won the 2005 championship by six strokes over runner-up Campbell. Stetson defeated CU by two strokes in 2009 at the facility.
