JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Jacksonville's Olivia Kline earned the win and hit the game-winning home run in the top of the ninth inning to defeat Campbell's softball team (27-22, 9-7 Atlantic Sun) by a 2-1 score in nine innings at JU Softball Complex. The Dolphins are now 33-14 and 12-2 in the Atlantic Sun this season

Senior Katie Woodcock (10-2) pitched well in defeat for the Camels. Kline (14-6) was also great in earning the win. She allowed just one run on five hits in nine innings worked.

Kline untied the game on the first pitch she saw to start the ninth inning. The home run was her fifth of the season.

The Camels scored the game's first run in the third inning. Senior Lauren Stephan singled to left, moved to second on a ground out. After a strikeout, senior Keeli Michael hit a bound ball through the right side to score Stephan from second with the first run of the game.

The Dolphins tied the game up with a run on Meagan Balding's bases loaded single. A strong throw from senior Lauren Stephan eliminated Jacey Warner at the plate to end the inning.

Woodcock escaped a bases loaded two out jam in the fifth inning with a ground out.

CU had an opportunity in the sixth inning and loaded the bases but JU stood strong and Kline ended the inning with a pop out.

The Camels again put runners on base in the eighth inning. Senior Amanda Miller drew a one-out walk and moved to second on sophomore Sarah Forgacs' single. The next two were retired in order to keep the game knotted at one.

The Camels now return home to take on North Carolina Central on Wednesday, April 20, in a single game starting at 6 p.m.
