PINEHURST,
N.C. - Sandra Angulo is tied for 17th overall and Campbell is fifth
in the team standings after 36 holes Monday of the Pinehurst
Challenge.
A senior from Torreon, Mexico, Angulo shot 80-78-158 in extremely
windy conditions on the par-72, 5981 Pinehurst No.-6 layout.
Leigh Whittaker from the College of Charleston managed a
four-over-par 18 (73-75) to take the individual lead in the
78-player field. Minnesota teammates Mary Narzisi (75-76-151) and
Teresa Puga (75-77-152) are second and third, respectively.
Minnesota (306-309-615) and Charleston (310-305-615) are tied for
the top spot on the 14-school leader board heading into Tuesday's
final round. Samford (310-319-629), Morehead State (318-312-630)
and Campbell (319-318-637) round out the top five.
Campbell junior Michelle Koh (83-77-160), freshman Maria Jose
Benavides (78-82-160) and senior Sarah Bejgrowicz (79-81-160) are
among six played tied for 27th place at 16-over-par.
Sophomore Teresa Urquizu (80-82-162) is tied for 34th, while
freshmen Kaylin Yost (82-83-165) and Alexandra Prazak (80-92-172)
are tied for 43rd and 61st place, respectively.
