Amanda Miller and Sarah Forgacs Earn All-Conference Selections

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - For the second consecutive season, Campbell's softball team had a pair of players selected to the Atlantic Sun's All-Conference teams in senior Amanda Miller and sophomore Sarah Forgacs, the conference office announced Tuesday morning.

Senior Amanda Miller earned All-Atlantic Sun First Team honors for the first time in her career. The Dunn, N.C. native had earned second team selections as both a sophomore and junior and was an all-freshman choice in her rookie year. Miller leads the team in batting average (.323), runs (34), doubles (13), triples (5), RBIs (36), total bases (89), on-base percentage (.403) and is tied for the team lead with 51 hits. She is tied for the lead in the conference in triples, fifth in runs scored, sixth in doubles, seventh in total bases and eighth in RBIs. Miller has clubbed five home runs, walked 22 times and stole five bases. She leads the team with nine game-winning RBIs and is second on the team with nine multi-RBI games. She had a streak of reaching base in 13 consecutive games earlier this season. Miller really picked up her play in league only play and hit .328 with 21 hits, three doubles, two triples, two home runs and 11 RBIs against conference rivals.

Sophomore Sarah Forgacs is making her second consecutive appearance on the second team after being both a second team and all-freshman team selection as a rookie. The Cary, N.C. native really stood out in league only play in hitting .304 with 10 runs, 17 hits, two doubles, two home runs, six RBIs, five walks and five stolen bases. Forgacs also leads the league in being hit by pitches this season and has been plunked 14 times. The 14 times are one off the school record. On the season, Forgacs is hitting .279 with 31 runs, 39 hits, six doubles, a triple, two home runs, 19 RBIs, 53 total bases, 16 walks and 17 stolen bases. Her stolen base total places her sixth in the conference.

Jacksonville leads the field with four first team selections and is tied for the most with six selections overall. The Dolphins' Sarah Sigrest was named the Atlantic Sun Pitcher of the Year. JU's head coach Amanda Lehotak was named the A-Sun Coach of Year. Florida Gulf Coast's Courtney Platt took home A-Sun Player of the Year honors, while North Florida's Cortney Radke earned Freshman of the Year honors.

Campbell (30-26, 11-9 Atlantic Sun), the fourth seed, will take on fifth seed Mercer (30-22, 10-10 Atlantic Sun) on Wednesday, May 11th, at 2 p.m. in the first round of the Atlantic Sun Tournament.
