SPARTANBURG, N.C. - Sophomore Brittany
Arnn followed up her first career complete game with her first
career shutout in Campbell softball's (32-27) 3-0 win over Mercer
(32-24) in the team's third game at the 2011 Atlantic Sun
Tournament. The Camels will take on Lipscomb in another elimination
game at 5:30 p.m. CU will be looking to end its third A-Sun
opponents this season in the tournament with the game against
Lipscomb.
Arnn (7-8) threw her second career complete game and second
complete game in as many days to lead Campbell to the shutout
victory. The sophomore allowed just two hits and struck out three.
The loss went to Kassie Bailey (4-3), who allowed two runs in 2/3
of an inning.
Senior Amanda
Miller had a double and two runs scored to lead the offensive
attack.
The Camels scored first with two in the opening inning. Miller
reached on a hit by pitch, moved to second on a sacrifice bunt,
took third on a fly out and scored on junior Taylor
McGee roped single through the left side. McGee raced around
the bases and scored from first herself on senior Katie
Hinton's double.
CU added a run to the lead in the third. Miller lead-off the frame
with a double, a Keeli
Michael sacrifice bunt moved her to third and she scored on
senior Lauren
Stephan's sacrifice fly.
