BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell will step in front of an audience for the first time in 2012-13 when the Fighting Camels host Division II Coker in a 7:00 p.m. exhibition at Gore Arena.

Admission is free for Thursday's pre-season game, which will feature general admission seating in the 3,095-seat arena.

The pre-season Big South Conference North Division favorites return three starters – Trey Freeman, Marvelle Harris and Darren White – from last year's club that finished 17-15 overall and third (11-7) in the Big South standings

Freeman and White were both named to the pre-season all-conference first team by league head coaches.  White was chosen pre-season Big South player of the year and Mid-Major All-American by College Sports Madness.

Last year, Freeman was named Big South freshman of the year after he led all league frosh in scoring (13.9), free throw percentage (.871) and field goal shooting (.437), while ranking 2nd in assists (3.83).

The lone senior on this year's Camel squad, White was a second-team all-league choice in 2011-12 after he finished fifth among Big South scoring leaders (16.8), 4th in field goal accuracy (.520) and 8th in blocks (1.05).

Harris returns after chipping in 5.0 points and 5.9 rebounds a year ago.  The 6-foot-6 forward already ranks ninth on Campbell's career blocked shots list.

Coker returns all five starters from last year's club that compiled a 14-13 overall mark and 8-8 record in Conference Carolinas.  Six-foot-five Junior guard Julian Nelson paced the Cobras with a 13.6 scoring average last year.

Campbell opens the regular season with 3-straight home games – Nov. 9 vs. Averett (7:00 p.m.), Nov. 12 vs. Northwestern State (7:00 p.m.) and Nov. 16 vs. Appalachian State (7:45 p.m.).
