LYNCHBURG, VA. -- Kyle Breitmeyer scored the game's lone goal in the 62nd minute Friday and Liberty defeated visiting Campbell in Big South men's soccer action.
Scott Sutarik make eight saves, and Flames defenders twice cleared Camel shots before they went in the net in the second half. Liberty (3-6, 2-1) halted a 3-match losing streak, while the Camels (7-3-1, 2-2) saw their 3-game win streak come to a close.
Campbell out-shot the hosts 14-10, including a 10-4 edge in shots on goal, but was shut out for the first time this season. Ethan Hall made 3 saves in the Camel nets.
Playing its fourth Big South match on the road to start the conference season, the Camels were unable to reproduce the second-half scores that resulted in one-goal victories last week at Longwood and VMI.
