Campbell Earns NSCAA Team Academic Award

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The Campbell women's soccer team has been honored with the NSCAA Team Academic Award for the 2011-12 academic year.

"We're really proud of our ladies for achieving this award for yet another year," said head coach Todd Clark. "It indicates that not only does our program value on the field performance but also academic achievement."

The award is given annually to collegiate soccer teams that post a minimum 3.0 GPA. The Camels earned a 3.28 average GPA least year.

"It is truly a team award in that every single player's grades are factored into the equation so we literally couldn't do it without everyone's commitment," Clark continued.  "It also is a nod to those professors, coaches, tutors, and Academic Services personnel that help our student-athletes on a day-to-day basis.  Without everyone's help, this might not be possible, so we are grateful."

The Team Academic Award is unique in that receiving the award carries with it the benefits of demonstrating the team's goal-centered focus on their academic priority and recognizing all team members for commendable academic performance.
