Statesboro, Ga. – Campbell concluded its five match road trip Tuesday with a 6-1 win over Georgia Southern. It was the sixth straight win for the Camels (9-2, 1-1).
Karolina Chernaya and Tamara Stanic improved to 8-3 in singles play this season with wins in the top two spots. Chernaya topped Paola Garrido (2-6, 6-4, 10-4) in the one position, while Stanic topped Allison Beeler (6-3, 6-3) in the two position.
Natasha Afridi didn't drop a single game to defeat Cameron Williams in the three spot (6-0, 6-0). Borislava Nikolova bounced back from a loss Saturday and defeated Scottie French (6-1, 6-0) in the four spot.
Anais Gomar clinched the match for the Camels by knocking off Sydney Brown (6-2, 6-2) in the six spot. The senior from Lleida, Spain is 7-3 this season.
Campbell clinched the doubles point by taking two of the three matches. Stanic and Katya Yegoreychenko clinched the point by beating Garrido and Mimi Bollaci (8-3) in the two spot.
The Camels return home to begin a four match home stand Saturday, March 17 against Hampton. Match time is set for 3:30 pm.
