Women's Tennis Tops Presbyterian 6-1

BUIES CREEK – The Campbell University women's tennis team improved to 10-7 following a 6-1 victory over Presbyterian Tuesday afternoon. Karolina Chernaya and Borislava Nikolova improved to 14-2 in doubles play for the Camels.

Campbell took five singles matches, highlighted by wins from Natasha Afridi and Tamara Stanic in the two and three spots. Afridi is a team best 11-4 in singles play this season while Stanic is 9-7.

Nikolova picked up her fourth win in five matches by defeating Patricia Alves in the four spot (7-6 6-0). Freshman Katya Yegoreychenko won her fifth match in the orange and black over Caroline DeLoach in the five spot (6-4 6-1).

Anais Gomar picked up the fifth singles win for the Camels by knocking off Lindsay Krause in the six spot (6-3 6-4). The senior from Lleida, Spain is 10-6 this season.

Campbell concludes its regular season schedule Friday, April 13 against Charlotte. Match time is set for 2:00 pm at the Nisbet Tennis Center.
