UNC Kent Taylor / Joe Hilton Invitational schedule
BUIES CREEK, N.C.-Following her fourth straight top-5 finish of the outdoor season, Campbell junior Jessica Dunston will compete in Saturday's UNC Kent Taylor / Joe Hilton Invitational.
Competition will kick off at North Carolina's Irwin Belk Track, with select events at Findley Fields, at 10 a.m. on Saturday. Dunston will participate in the women's hammer throw at 10 a.m. at Findley Fields.
Dunston is ranked 28th in the NCAA East region, 72nd nationally and third in the Big South in the hammer throw this season with a personal best 55.50 meter toss. The school record throw came at the NC State Raleigh Relays on March 31.
The Knightdale, N.C. native, who placed fifth in the Raleigh Relays event, has posted two wins this season, taking individual victories at both the UNCW Seahawk Invitational and the Coastal Carolina Shamrock Invitational.
Dunston, who owns school records in the indoor weight throw and shot put, while holding Campbell marks in the outdoor hammer throw and shot put, was named the Big South Women's Field Athlete of the Week following the Raleigh Relays.
Dunston will be the only Camel in action this weekend as the team preps for the Big South Outdoor Championships. The three day conference meet will begin on April 19 and close on April 21 in Conway, S.C.
The Camels will host the Irwin Belk Open on April 28, the school's first home meet since 1987.
