CHAPEL HILL, N.C.-Jessica Dunston posted her fifth consecutive top-5 finish, taking third in the hammer throw Saturday at the UNC Kent Taylor / Joe Hilton Invitational.
Dunston, a junior from Knightdale, N.C., posted a 51.49 meter toss Saturday morning at Findley Fields. Duke's Michelle Anumba took the event title with a 57.11 meter mark, while NC State's Lawanda Henry edged Dunston with a 54.67 meter heave.
Coming into Saturday's competition, Dunston ranked 28th in the NCAA East region, 72nd nationally and third in the Big South in the hammer throw this season with a personal best 55.50 meter toss. The school record throw came at the NC State Raleigh Relays on March 31.
The Camels will be back in action Thursday, April 19, kicking off the three day Big South Outdoor Championships in Conway, S.C.
Campbell will host the Irwin Belk Open on April 28, the school's first home meet since 1987.
