CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA.-Morgan Timiney took seventh while DeLohnni Nicol-Samuel placed 11th in the men's 3,000 meter steeplechase Saturday at the Virginia Challenge.
Timiney, a sophomore from Kalamazoo, Mich., registered a time of 9:15.39 to take seventh. Timiney broke the school steeplechase record last weekend at the Duke Twilight with a 9:11.49, edging Mike Earle's 2005 mark of 9:13.69.
Nicol-Samuel's time of 9:22.02 set a personal best for the junior from Brandon, Manitoba, finishing 11th on the day.
The NCAA East Regionals will begin May 24 in Jacksonville, Fla.
