GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Incoming freshman D.J. Mason from West Bladen High School scored 13 points and grabbed a game-high 14 rebounds in Monday's North Carolina Coaches Association East-West All-Star Game at the Greensboro Coliseum.
Mason, who signed with the Camels last November, hit all 4 of his free throws and grabbed 5 offensive boards, 9 on the defensive end, over 24 minutes of action in the 107-97 loss to the West All-Stars.
Shawn Lester led five West All-Stars in double figures with 20 points. Denzel Ingram scored a game-high 23 to top five East All-Stars in double digits.
"D.J. is a very active player," said Campbell head coach Robbie Laing. "He gets his hands on a lot of balls. He is very effective in traffic and has shown the ability to step out and make a three. He has a high ceiling for improvement. He is working hard on his skill refinement this summer. If he is focused, he could have an immediate impact on our program."
