Elon (0-1) dropped a 4-2 decision last Saturday to High Point in the Phoenix' home opener. Chris Thomas and Daniel Lovitz scored, but Elon could not overcome a 3-1 half-time deficit.
Campbell leads the all-time series between the schools 9-7-1, but Elon claimed a 3-1 victory last year in Buies Creek. Thomas scored what proved to be the game-winning goal in the 36th minute.
Following Saturday night's contest, the Camels have a 2-week break from competition before hosting Loyola (Md.) on Sept. 15.
