Armas is in his third year as head coach of the Fighting Camels, who are ranked 10th in the South Atlantic region this week and head into Saturday's 7 p.m. home contest vs. Loyola (Md.) with a 2-1-1 record.
A 2003 Maryland graduate who went on to play in Major League Soccer, Armas has guided the Camels to a 17-19-7 record (9-9-0 in league regular season play). His teams have produced a 1-1-1 record against Atlantic Coast Conference opponents.
Campbell faces the first of three ACC foes next Tuesday when the Camels travel to 14th-ranked NC State for a 7 p.m. start. Last year, the Camels defeated the Wolfpack 1-0 on Ben Iiames' 91st minute golden goal.
CU also hosts Virginia Tech Oct. 2 and travels to top-ranked North Carolina on Oct. 23.
