Coach Boardwine's Coaching Corner

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – After two months of road competition, Campbell returns home Wednesday to open Southern Conference action against VMI and to take on ACC opponent North Carolina State. Competition starts at 5 p.m. in Gore Arena as the Camels take on the Keydets to begin.

VMI and NC State will face off at the conclusion of the Campbell-VMI match.

Campbell most recently finished 17th at the Southern Scuffle, ranking above Appalachian, North Carolina and NC State. No. 30 Eric Montoya placed seventh at 125 pounds in the final open tournament of the season.

The Camels are 1-4 on the year in dual meets, after splitting two matches at the Hokie Duals in November. Campbell blanked Manchester 44-0 before falling to No. 25 Wisconsin 35-7.

VMI leads the series with Campbell 8-2, but the Camels defeated the Keydets 27-15 last year in Lexington, Va. This year, VMI is 0-2 overall, falling to Franklin & Marshall and Drexel.

Seeking their first win in series history, the Camels will take on the Wolfpack in the late match. Wednesday will mark the first dual meets of the season for NC State, who finished 21st at the Southern Scuffle.

Campbell and VMI will square off at 5 p.m. in Gore Arena, followed by the VMI vs. NC State and Campbell vs. NC State matches. The matches will be streamed live here.
