IOWA CITY, IOWA -- Ali Prazak and Kaylin Yost finished among the top 20 individuals and Campbell placed 7th in the team standings following Sunday's final round of the Diane Thomason Invitational.
Prazak tied for 15th (79-76-74--229) following the team's low round of the day, while Yost tied for 19th (76-75-79--230) in the 73-golfer field.
Stephanie Miller of Illinois (74-70-69--213) was the lone player to finish in red numbers and won the individual title by 10 strokes. Teammate Ember Schuldt also placed among the top five as the 28th-ranked Illini claimed team honors (299-301-299--899) by five strokes over No.-42 Kansas (303-298-303--904).
In a field that included five schools ranked among the nation's top 50 and another (including No.-59 Campbell) in the top 100 according to Golfstat, Campbell finished seventh (311-303-309--923), in front of Chattanooga, Kansas State, Middle Tennessee, Michigan and South Florida. CU was only one stroke behind host Iowa (922).
Prazak's final round Sunday included 11 pars and three birdies. The junior from St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands played the par-3 holes at even for the tournament, second-best among all players. She made 34 pars in 54 holes.
Yost played the par-fours at 4-over (tied for 4th best), while making five birdies on the par-72, 6212-yard Finkbine Golf Course.
Campbell junior Lisbeth Brooks tied for 26th place (76-77-80--233), while freshman Louise Latorre (80-75-80--235) and junior Brooke Bellomy (79-79-77--235) tied for 34th. Sophomore Tahnia Ravnjak finished in a tie for 44th place (80-80-76--236).
CU returns to action one week from Monday when it hosts the Fighting Camel Fall Classic in a field that includes Iowa.
