BUIES CREEK, N.C. – During the fall season, we look back at the best moments of Campbell's record breaking 2013 baseball season. Today, No. 8 is revealed: Goff notches 300th career win, Camels complete sweep of ECU.

The countdown will continue on GoCamels.com leading up to the Camels' Fall World Series on Oct. 29 and 30, with the deciding game on the final day of practice, Nov. 1.

No. 8: Goff notches 300th career win, Camels complete sweep of ECU
Elijah Trail's seventh inning two-out bases clearing double put Campbell ahead and reliever Ryan Thompson pitched two shutout innings to seal an 8-6 victory over visiting East Carolina on March 13 at Jim Perry Stadium.

The win was number 300 as a head coach for Camel skipper Greg Goff, who was in his sixth season at the helm of the CU program in 2013.

Campbell improved to 14-2 on the season with the win, its second of the season over ECU, who fell to 9-7. The 2-0 mark against the Pirates marks the first time since 1985 that Campbell has posted multiple wins over ECU in a single season.

Trail, a junior infielder from Bakersfield, Calif., ended the night with six RBI, going 2-for-4 with a two-run home run, his fourth of the season.

Ben McQuown notched a 3-for-4 night, adding a run scored and a RBI, plus his nation-leading 25th stolen base in 2013.

Trail's two-run blast in the first began the scoring in the in-state battle, also scoring Graham, who reached on a walk.

ECU's Jay Cannon answered with a leadoff homer in the top of the second before Travis Watkins' RBI single scored Chris Gosik four batters later. Watkins then scored on a wild pitch, giving the Pirates a 3-2 lead.

In the bottom of the inning, however, the Camels loaded the bases and Clayton Brown scored on a Trail walk. ECU's two-out error allowed another Campbell run to score one batter later, putting the Camels back on top, 4-3.

Campbell added another in the third on McQuown's double to center.

In the top of the fifth, Zach Houchins' doubled with the bases loaded for ECU, giving the Pirates the 6-5 advantage.

Campbell rallied with two away in the home half of the seventh, loading the bases before Trail's bases clearing double.

David Olson earned the win in relief for the Camels, moving to 1-0 on the year after pitching two innings with a hit and three walks. Thompson, a junior from Turner, Ore., notched his fourth save on two innings of work with a strikeout and a walk.

CU starter Hector Cedano went 3 1/3 innings, allowing five hits, three runs, all earned, with two walks and four strikeouts, while Logan Self went 1 2/3 with three runs on three hits and a walk.
