Box Score BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell fell in its third-straight Big South match Wednesday as Radford went home with a 2-0 win. The Camels fall to 4-6-0 overall and 0-3-0 in the Big South as the Highlanders improve to 7-1-1 (3-0-0 Big South) in their first win in Buies Creek since 1992.
The loss was the Camels' first of the year at Eakes Athletic Complex.
"We just have to accept it and put this game behind us," head coach Todd Clark said. "Every single game we've lost, we've lost the same way. We have to continue to work on applying the lessons learned from games before. We just have to keep working hard to change the aspects of the mistakes that cost us and give ourselves a chance."
Sahar Aflaki scored her third and fourth goals of the season to give Radford the two-goal advantage. She netted the first Highlander goal in the 11th minute, as Rachel Conway set her up just outside the 18 yard box, where she hit the ball past keeper Alexis Connors.
Radford's second score came in the 53rd minute as Aflaki was able to tap in a shot that came off a rebound in the Campbell six yard box.
The Highlanders outshot the Camels 20-9 and had nine shots on goal to Campbell's four. Freshman Murita Storey led CU with three shots, one on goal. Connors and Samantha Lawson shared time in the Campbell net. Connors tallied four saves with two goals against while Lawson saved all three shots she faced. Radford keeper Che' Brown earned her sixth win as she stopped four CU shots.
The Camels are back in action Saturday for Family Day as they take on Gardner-Webb at 4:00 p.m. at Eakes Athletic Complex.
