Camels open play in Wendy's Kiawah Classic

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. -- Amanjyot Singh shot a 5-over 77 and Campbell is 17th after Sunday's first round of the Wendy's Kiawah Classic.

No.-33 South Carolina leads the 18-school field after shooting a 5-under 283 on the par-72, 7061-yard Turtle Point layout.  Radford is eight strokes behind in second place (291).  Campbell shot 316 and sits in 17th place heading into Monday's second round of the 54-hole event.

Will Starke of South Carolina and Radford's Nick Brediger both shot 3-under-par 69 to share the individual lead.

Singh is tied for 56th place (77), while teammate Alvaro Veiga is tied for 61st (78).  Freshman Craig Hornberger shot 80, while sophomores Jared Carver and Jeremy Milton finished at 83.
