Pioneer Football League | @CampbellFB

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell completed another outstanding year in the classroom in 2012 with 42 student-athletes earning Pioneer Football League Academic Honor Roll accolades.

The Camels' 42 honor roll members are the second-highest in the program's five years of competition in the PFL, ranking behind 2011's 56. 22 Camels are receiving the award for at least the second time, and four of this year's honorees posted perfect 4.0 GPA's for the fall 2012 term.

Redshirt junior wide receiver Chad McMichael, senior defensive back Paul Pizzuti and senior kicker Sam Eberwein are added to a select list of four-time winners from Campbell, joining former offensive lineman Andy Johnson (2008-11).

The pair was joined by Colten Burris on the CoSIDA Academic All-District 3 First Team, while Eberwein was named a semifinalist for the National Football Foundation's Scholar-Athlete Award.

Eight Camels, including Odom, Burris and Eberwein on the conference's first team, were named to the Pioneer Football League's All-Academic teams. Lutz and Dalton Dillon were also named Second Team All-PFL, while Scott and Pizzuti earned honorable mention compliments. Scott and Lutz also made College Sports Madness' Second Team All-PFL list.

Odom, Lutz and Scott each received honorable mention accolades from the College Football Performance Awards for national player of the week in their respective positions, while Pizzuti was named to the Inaugural South Carolina College All Star Bowl Watch List.

The Pioneer Football League athletic directors established the honor roll as a way to recognize the league's outstanding student-athletes. The academic honor roll consists of student-athletes who participated in football at member institutions during the fall semester and posted a 3.0 grade-point average or higher during the semester while enrolled full-time in accordance with NCAA rules.

The Camels, under the direction of new head coach Mike Minter, will begin the 2013 season at Charlotte on Aug. 31.
