Baker Named Big South Championships All-Tournament

CONWAY, S.C. – Senior guard Tonisha Baker (High Point, N.C.) was selected to the VisitMyrtleBeach.com Big South Championships All-Tournament Team on Sunday for her performances in the semifinal and quarterfinal rounds. She helped the Lady Camels to the semifinals with a 74-73 overtime win over High Point by tying her career-best with 31 point and added 18 points on Saturday against Liberty.

Campbell hit the 20-win mark against the Panthers for the first time since 2001, the program's last postseason victory. Baker becomes the first member of a league all-tournament team since Crystal Clary, April Cromartie and Stacey Hinkle were honored following the A-Sun Championships in 2001.

The High Point, N.C., contributed 21 second-half points to help the Lady Camels rally from a historic 24-point deficit at the break to force overtime. She finished with her first double-double of the season with 31 points and 10 rebounds, the 10th of her career, while shooting 12-of-26 overall and making 6-of-8 attempts from the charity stripe.

In the semifinal matchup, Baker contributed 18 points on 8-of-14 from the field, but Campbell fell to Liberty, 70-56.

She set a school record by playing in a total of 121 games in her career, passing former teammate Lauren Yesh (2007-11) with 130 games played. Baker finished her Lady Camels' career with 1,526 points to rank sixth on the scoring charts.

Baker registered 99 steals to finish forth in the team's single-season charts and tied for eight on the Big South yearly charts with Cheri McNeil of Coastal Carolina. She tallied 263 career steals, ranking third in program history.

She became the first Lady Camel to appear on the Big South All-Tournament team since Laurie Hood (1992, 1991). Tammy Brown (1991, 1990, 1989), Lisa Allison (1990), Denise Ford (1987, 1988, 1989), Cyndi Hicks (1989), Julie Skinner (1988) and Regina McKeithan (1987, 1988).
