Women's Tennis Hosts Appalachian State on Friday

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell seeks to continue a stretch of three wins in the past four matches when it steps outside of conference play on Friday against Appalachian State. The first serve at the Nisbet Tennis Center is set for 2 p.m.

Senior Lourdes Ros (Greensboro, N.C.) has notched three-straight single victories for Campbell (4-8) at No. 6. A 6-3 mark has been compiled by sophomore Tamara Stanic (Budva, Montenegro) at No. 1, while sophomore Karolina Chernaya (Tashkent, Uzbekistan) has posted a 5-2 mark.

Playing at No. 2, freshman Ana Maria Ortiz (Betera, Spain) has gone 6-2 to solidify the top-half of the singles' lineup for the Camels.

In the last outing against Radford, Campbell earned the doubles' point for the third time this season in a 5-2 victory. Singles wins were secured by freshman Ewa Telenga (Gliwice, Poland), Chernaya, Ortiz and Ros.

Appalachian State (9-3) is led by Ellie Linsel at No. 1, tallying a 10-1 mark, while Clare Cox is 7-4 competing in the second slot. The Mountaineers are 49-22 in singles matches, while boasting a 20-10 doubles record.

The Camels begin a three-match road trip on Monday at Gardner-Webb. Coastal Carolina and Longwood are also on the docket for Campbell during the stretch.
